They wait for inspiration.
They wait for clarity.
They wait until they “feel like it.”
But what if motivation isn’t supposed to come first?
This morning I realized something interesting.
I often sit down without knowing what I’m going to write. Yet almost every single time, the words eventually come.
Not because I forced them.
Because I picked up the pen.
The pen became the trigger.
Once I begin, my mind shifts into a different state. Thoughts connect. Ideas surface. Sentences appear that I didn’t know were there five minutes earlier.
I’ve experienced it enough times that I trust the process.
This principle extends far beyond writing.
The hardest part of reading is opening the book.
The hardest part of training is walking into the gym.
The hardest part of prayer is getting on your knees.
Action doesn’t always follow motivation.
Very often…
Motivation follows action.
Stop waiting to feel ready.
Find your trigger.
Then trust what happens after you begin.
Reflection Question
What simple action could become your trigger instead of waiting for motivation?
