The Weight of Unmet Expectations

What to do when reality cuts against the plan

Life doesn’t always unfold the way you envision. Sometimes what you expect is not what arrives. And when that gap opens, shame and fear try to sneak in — fear of being seen as unworthy, fear of being exposed.

But the test isn’t whether everything works out. The test is what you do when it doesn’t. Do you crumble? Or do you choose to keep walking, even with disappointment pressing on your chest?

Strength doesn’t come from perfection. Strength comes from persistence. The enemy wants you to quit under the weight of unmet expectations — but the Lord equips you to endure through them, so that your character grows sharper than before.

Reflection Question:

How do you usually respond when things don’t go as planned, and what would it look like to respond with discipline instead of discouragement?
