The Ones Who Turn on You
How spiritual warfare often hides in emotional retaliation
There’s a moment most people never prepare for.
You cut someone off—not out of hate, but because the path you’re called to can’t carry everyone.
At first, they act supportive. But when they realize they no longer have access to you, their “support” mutates into insults. Their silence becomes slander. Their concern turns to control. Why?
Because people who can’t control you… lose control of themselves.
This is deeper than betrayal. This is strategic warfare.
The enemy doesn’t always attack through strangers. Sometimes it’s the people who knew how to hit you hardest. They’ll twist words, feign confusion, or play the victim—anything to make you question your direction. Because the moment you stop to explain yourself, you step outside the fortress of God’s protection.
It’s not always an attack—it’s a trap.
Some will use intelligence to confuse you. Others will try to “pull you back” emotionally. Their goal? To open you up. Because once you break composure, the real assault begins.
That’s why Scripture doesn’t just tell us to wear armor—it tells us to stand. Armor means nothing if you drop your posture in the heat of the moment.
Stay inside the fortress. Stay armored up. Don’t fall for the bait of emotions masked as conversations. When they can no longer reach your mind, they aim for your heart.
Discern the difference. Hold your position.
The cost of leaving the fortress is always higher than the temporary comfort of going back.
