The Old Tape That’s Killing You

Why the movie in your head is poisoning you—and how to burn it.

Most people aren’t destroyed by what happens to them.

They’re destroyed by the tape they keep replaying in their mind.

That old tape whispers fear, regret, and shame. It convinces you that you’re stuck, that nothing will change, that you’re too weak to break free.

But that tape isn’t protecting you. It’s poisoning you. Every time you replay it, you’re rehearsing weakness.

God never called us to live in cycles of defeat. “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

You don’t have to keep replaying the old tape. You can throw it in the fire. You can record a new one—truth, discipline, obedience—and play it until it becomes your default.

The old tape ends in chains. The new tape ends in freedom.

Which one will you replay today?
