There is a strange tension between confidence and humility.
I can recognize that I have grown.
I can recognize that I am capable.
I can recognize that I have become someone my younger self may not even recognize.
And still say:
I have problems.
I have blind spots.
I can be wrong.
Humility doesn’t require shrinking yourself so everyone else feels comfortable.
It requires seeing yourself accurately.
Your strengths without worshipping them.
Your weaknesses without being ashamed of them.
Your progress without believing you’ve arrived.
There is always another layer to uncover.
Reflection Question:
Can you acknowledge both how far you’ve come and how much you still need to learn?
~ Praise God
