I’ve realized something.
Discipline becomes much easier when you stop relying on discipline.
That sounds backwards.
But think about it.
How many decisions could you eliminate before you even wake up?
Prepare the coffee.
Lay out the clothes.
Know exactly what you’ll read.
Know exactly what you’ll record.
Know where you’re going next.
Every decision removed is one less opportunity to hesitate.
Most people think productivity comes from trying harder.
I’ve found it often comes from making fewer unnecessary choices.
The goal isn’t to become someone with endless willpower.
The goal is to build a life where the right action becomes the easiest action.
That’s what systems do.
They reduce friction.
Every small improvement compounds.
Eventually, your mornings stop feeling chaotic.
They begin feeling inevitable.
Reflection Question
What is one source of friction you could eliminate tonight that would make tomorrow easier?
